  • Description
  • Application

It features an aluminum heat sink and a design similar to traditional halogen lamps. The wick has a 360-degree luminous wick design.

It has a glass lens and is IP66 waterproof. It offers sufficient power without false labeling. It's available in multiple voltage ranges.

It uses a constant-current IC power supply with a wide-voltage drive design and is CE and RHOS certified.

Applications: Suitable for taillights, brake lights, reverse lights, turn signals, side marker lights, taillights, brake lights, reverse lights, and interior lamps on cars, trucks, SUVs, vans, motorcycles, scooters,

and recreational vehicles on trailers. This includes recreational vehicles, boats, and marine vehicles.

The 3157 uses a dual-contact, bayonet-style base. This is its most fundamental difference from the T10 bulb (wedge-shaped base) in the picture.

The base has two independent electrical contacts and two asymmetrical detents to achieve two different functions.

Core Function: Dual Circuit, Dual Brightness

The core feature of the 3157 bulb is that it integrates two independent circuits into one bulb, thus achieving two functions:

● Function 1 (Contact 1): Taillight/Sidelight - Lower power, lower brightness.

● Function 2 (Contact 2): Brakelight/Turn Signal - Higher power, very high brightness.

When you brake or turn the turn signal, the vehicle sends a stronger current to the second contact, causing the bulb to switch to high brightness mode.

Differences between 3157 and 3156

● 3157: A dual-function bulb (supports both low and high brightness modes).

● 3156: A single-function bulb (supports only high brightness mode, typically used for reverse lights).

Purchasing and Installation Notes

● Confirm the connector! This is the most critical step. Be sure to remove the old bulb from your vehicle and confirm whether it is a 3157 or 3156 model.

The 3157 has a dual-contact connector, while the 3156 has a single-contact connector. While the physical connectors are the same, their functions differ. Installing the wrong bulb may result in malfunction.

● CANBUS Compatibility: Modern vehicles' computer systems monitor bulb power consumption. Replacing halogen bulbs with LEDs significantly reduces power consumption,

potentially triggering a "bulb failure" warning. Please select 3157 LED products clearly labeled "CANBUS Ready," "Built-in Decoding," or "Anti-Error," or be prepared to install an additional load resistor.

● Light Color Selection: Select the correct light color based on regulations and intended use:

- Brake/Tail Lights: Must select red.

- Turn Signals: Must select amber (yellow).

The 3157 LED bulb is a dual-contact, dual-function automotive signal light, primarily used in integrated brake and taillight locations. It differs significantly from the T10 connector bulb in its physical interface,

functionality, and application scenarios. Please verify the vehicle's factory-installed bulb model before purchasing to ensure the correct choice.

Application:

3157 LED bulbs are one of the most commonly used bulbs in automotive rear combination lamps. They are typically used in integrated brake and taillight positions. Specific applications include: ● Brake lights (high brightness) & taillights (low brightness) ● Rear turn signals (high brightness and flashing) & parking lights (low brightness)
