Product Overview: G18X-54L14 G18 BA15S / BAU15S Switchback Dual-Color LED Bulb

The MIDCARS® G18X-54L14 is an ultra-compact, high-performance dual-color LED signal bulb specifically engineered for motorcycles and specialty automotive lighting. Built with 54 pieces of high-density SMD 3014 LEDs on an aviation-grade aluminum substrate with molded weatherproof silicone gasket seal to prevent moisture entering the lamp housing, this bulb provides intense 360-degree illumination while drawing ultra-low power.

Designed to directly replace conventional single-contact mini bayonet bulbs (R5W, R10W, RY10W, G18, 5007, 5008), the G18X-54L14 upgrades factory front or rear turn signal housings into a modern synchronized Daytime Running Light (6500K Xenon White) and Direction Indicator (595-600nm Signal Amber (~1800K)) configuration without generating excessive heat.

Smart Dual-Mode Switchback Illumination Logic

  • Daytime Running Mode (DRL): When ignition or parking lights are switched ON, the external power wire energizes the 54-SMD array in 6500K Xenon White for clean, continuous daytime visibility.

  • Turn Signal Activated: When the turn indicator or hazard switch is toggled, the internal circuit immediately suppresses the white light and flashes in 595-600nm Signal Amber (~1800K) at the standard vehicle flash rate.

  • Turn Signal Cancelled: Once the turn signal cancels, the bulb seamlessly restores back to 6500K Xenon White DRL after an engineered 1.0-second delay, ensuring complete compliance and modern lighting aesthetics.

⚠ Anti-Hyper Flash Recommendation (Load Resistor):
For motorcycles or vehicles equipped with thermal or mechanical flasher relays that experience hyper-flashing due to the low power draw of LED bulbs, adding an external load resistor is recommended to restore factory-standard flash rates:
 • 12V Systems: Add an external 5W 100 Ohm gold aluminum load resistor (or replace with an electronic flasher relay).
 • 24V Systems: Add an external 5W 300 Ohm gold aluminum load resistor.
 Note: The load resistor must be wired exclusively across the Turn Signal circuit and ground. Never connect a load resistor to the continuously-lit DRL circuit!
